The Mark Of Death!
Notes: One of Romita's scratchy inking jobs, he talks about in Roy Thomas' and Jim Amash's ...And All That Jazz! Some of Stan Lee's comments led Romita to this much more involved way of inking, which the other artists hated because it would be so time- consuming to imitate. So Romita dropped it soon after. A great anecdote, but there were plenty of other artists working in such an overworked style (particulary Mort Lawrence) and they never backed down. - Ger A. |
