Stories

Notes: It's the old story idea about a convict who escapes through the desert but ends up handcuffed to a dead man's body. The Spirit used it.
Notes: Horrible Death.
Notes: Introduction seeks reader feedback: "We want to print the kind of suspense stories you like to read, and this is your chance to tell us what you do like, and what you don't care for." Letter are to be addressed to Stan Lee, Editor. A reader who wrote, "I don't like mystery stories. I like stories about love. And also stories about Cowboys," is told, Don't miss out top-notch love magazine True Secrets, on sale every month, and also Wild Western." Another reader comments "I like Joe Maneely's and Russ Heath's drawing the best."
Notes: Story inspired by the tale of Bluebeard in Charles Perrault's Les Contes de ma Mère l'Oye (1697). On page 2, a "dull-witted" fellow has a copy of "Kiddie Tales" comics in his pocket.
Notes: Great panel compositions. Signed in tiny letters right next to the wolf woman's left foot in the splash.
