Notes: Very closely resembles the conclusion of the Columbia Pictures Alan Freed film Don't Knock the Rock: when parents object to rock 'n' roll music and dancing, the teenagers remind them of how silly the music and dances of the 1920s had been by putting on a exhibition of the Charleston, Black Bottom, etc. in period costume. The thing is, the film was not released until 14 Dec 1956, a month or more after the comic went on sale. I wonder if the plot of the movie was known via Goodman's movie magazines. - Tom Lammers |
