"Pascal the Rascal" is possibly the 5 page parody of Hank Ketcham's "Dennis the Menace" that would inspire the creation and publication of Melvin the Monster #1 July 1956. The 5 page parody is even signed by "Yank Kitchen"! Geddit! Doc Vassallo in his article on Joe Maneely, Alter Ego # 28 (Sep 03), described Melvin the Monster as: "the warped clone of Hank Ketchum's Dennis the Menace" and what a warped version "Pascal the Rascal" is. Stan and Joe obviously had a blast parodying Dennis I wonder what inspired them to create and produce Melvin as a regular "kiddie humour" book?
