Tom Lammers: Story Information
Notes: Supposedly the story of a white cavalry scout named Mickey Free (1852-1876) who was raised among the Sioux and died at the Battle of the Little Bighorn (Jun 1876); Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer (1839-1876) appears. There was a half-breed Apache cavalry scout named Mickey Free (1847-1915), but the events of his life do not match those related here; cf. Mickey Free: Manhunter by A. Kinney Griffith (Caxton Printers, 1969).
