DON'T MISS... "THE VALLEY OF MISSING COWBOYS!" IN THIS ISSUE! WILL TEX MORGAN GO DOWN BENEATH THE GUNS OF THE KILLER GANG? READ THIS THRILL-A-MINUTE TALE OF THE UNTAMED WEST!
Blaze Carson #5 (Jun 1949) cover blurb reads:
DON'T MISS "TRAPPED IN THE KILLER'S DEN!" IN THIS ISSUE! WILL BLAZE CARSON AND TUMBLEWEED GO DOWN BENEATH THE GUNS OF THE KILLER GANG? READ THE THRILL-A-MINUTE TALE OF THE UNTAMED WEST!
The story in Tex Morgan #5 is nothing special, however, the story attached to Blaze Carson #5 is a text story with a single panel of illustration... a near reprint of the cover art. A near reprint because the blurb found on this panel reads:
DON'T MISS "TRAPPED IN THE KILLER'S DEN!" IN THIS ISSUE! WILL TEX MORGAN AND LOBO GO DOWN BENEATH THE GUNS OF THE KILLER GANG? READ THIS THRILL-A-MINUTE TALE OF THE UNTAMED WEST!
Also, it clearly shows Tex Morgan and not Blaze Carson swinging across the cover... and Lobo is hitting a man with a chair instead of Tumbleweed. Tumbleweed's dialog on the cover reads "GET FRISKY WITH OL' TUMBLEWEED, WILL YA? TAKE THIS!" and Lobo's dialog in the text illo reads "LOBO SHOW YOU HOW INDIAN BRAVE FIGHT!" - Giff
