Notes on splash read, "A Combat Kelly salute to the 'Buffalo Division' 92nd Infantry Div." and "A Combat Kelly salute to the 'Evergreen Division' 91st Infantry Div." Kelly further tells the reader "Here's a salute to two Negro divisions that saw action in the First World War ..." There is apparently some confusion. While the 92nd was a segregated African-American unit in WWI, the 91st was not. Perhaps the 93rd Infantry Division was intended; it was also a segregated unit, which included the 369th Infantry Regiment, the much-decorated "Harlem Hellfighters".
