Notes: Origin story. Caption on splash reads in part, "Now, in answer to your thousands of letters, we present the thrilling tale of how that legend was born!" - Tom Lammers.
Joe Maneely splash panel and Shores and Maneely throughout with Maneely doing more than Shores. - Doc V.
DocV's seeing Maneely on the SURFACE throughout because Joe is inking and he's losing sight of Shores because Joe is overwhelming Syd's pencils with his inks. It's a different Maneely because he's inking someone else and being faithful to those pencils. - JVJ

Notes: Joe Maneely but the layouts look wrong. Maybe someone else. Wouldn't make sense but who knows? - Doc V.
These are surely Maneely inks, and I'm pretty sure they are his pencils, too, but I'll accept DocV's caution on that part of it. - JVJ

Notes: Joe Maneely splash panel and Shores & Maneely on the story. Not penciller/ink combo but Shores "and" Maneely. - Doc V.
